After a long hot summer, the inevitable happened and the heavens opened on Hythe Venetian Fete Day. But as the gates opened, there were breaks in the cloud and the sun shone on a fabulous parade of decorated floats.
The Fete could not take place without the local community groups, charities, and businesses who spend so much time putting in the effort to create such fantastic displays.
The winners were:
Class 1: Juvenile Society or Club
- Hythe Bay Church Of England Primary School
- 1st Saltwood Scouts
- Sellindge School Association
Class 2: Adult Society or Club
- The Fourtunettes
- Hythe Twinning Association
- Hythe Lawn Tennis Club
Class 3: Charity / Not for Profit
- Gerry's Pompeii
- Pilgrims Hospice
- Shepway Autism Support Group
Class 4: Commercial / Small Business
- The Castle
- Sienna Rose
- Tate Body Art
Best float: Pilgrims Hospice
Best Night: Sienna Rose
Best Day: The Fourtunettes

They were presented with their certificates and trophies last month at a special event at the Hythe Cricket and Squash Club.
The planning team are taking a well-earned break from Fete duties now.
Thank you to all our supporters, volunteers and the local community for your continued support. We look forward to being back in 2028 with some big changes. Watch this space!
