Entering a float in Hythe Venetian Fete is a unique way to promote your charity, local community organisation, youth centre or sports club.

There are just three spaces left for this year's grand parade and it's a great opportunity to raise awareness of your cause or engage the public in your achievements. Complete this form to enter your organisation, charity, or business.

And there's also some friendly competition – could your charity, organisation, or family and friends group win Best Tableau on Parade at the Hythe Venetian Fete 2026? This year we will see entries from local schools, the scouts, some pubs and support organisations. Here's what some of them have to say:

Hythe Twinning Association has had 20 consecutive float entries

March 2026, and Hythe Twinning Association (twin towns Berck-sur-Mer in France, Poperinge in Belgium) has only just decided what we want to put on the float. You would think that with over twenty consecutive Fete entries we would be well ahead of the game by now! But no, it still seems to creep up on us without warning. Is that part of the appeal? It certainly succeeds in pulling together a disparate mix of DIY skills, artistic merit and keen amateurism that results in a float design that is (usually only just) ready for the third Wednesday in August.

Around a dozen people who may not meet much outside of Twinning functions find themselves thrown together by the challenges of, for example, how do we get the Mary Rose to capsize for the evening run, or how do we make this shark look like it's about to eat Roy Scneider on the Orca? And then there's the final three days actually putting it all together on the canal – the sheer pleasure of seeing everyone else's floats coming together. The atmosphere along the canal reflects that weirdly British community thing of doing something for a bit of a laugh (but let's not forget there's a prize at stake!). And a beer at the end of it.

Shepway Autism Support Group

Sasg is entering our youth club float as usual because entering the fete gives the young people an opportunity to join in with a local event and enhance their creative and communication skills.

Hythe Bay Church of England Primary School

The school entered as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 2024

We think it is really important for our school to have a float, as the primary school at the heart of the town. The fete is a special event for our whole community, and taking part helps strengthen that connection. Our children absolutely love seeing the school float each year. They enjoy being involved in the construction, and it gives them a real sense of pride and belonging to take part in such an exciting event.

Tate Body Art 

I'm entering for the first time. I think having a big, beautiful and fun thing to do for locals and out of towners is amazing. It brings people together, and that makes my heart warm. Something that highlights community efforts and validation of Hythe in general. It is not as sleepy as some may say! The town as a whole will benefit, not only because the fete will bring out and accurately depict just how eclectic and unique this town and it's people are, but also how much fun we can be! Hythe is worth it and I can't wait! So look out for Tate at the Venetian Fete!

Kerry's Art Studio

Kerry Munn, local artist and art teacher, is also entering for the first time.

I've been attending the Venetian Fete, an event that unites the community, all my life so to be part of it this year will be so exciting. Growing up in Hythe, I'm passionate about bringing people together through art. I believe in making art accessible and enjoyable for everyone, and I'm thrilled to help grow our local 'Art Family'.

Care Anchor Kent CIC

We know that life can sometimes feel like a bit of a stormy sea, especially for our local carers. We are so proud to be sharing our float with the Maya Nash Cancer Fund to support a brave 12-year-old girl from our community. For us, the Venetian Fete is about more than just a parade. It's about showing that no matter how deep the water, our community is an anchor that lifts people up. We're ready to make some waves! We are so excited to get the families involved in the creative process!

St Leonards Church Youth Group

We've entered the fete with the church youth group to showcase our organisation and for the fun of taking part in a well-loved community event! The fete itself is a brilliant, unique event and is a focal point for the community every two years. We know that it will be a brilliant project for the young people to get involved with and will help them to develop their creative skills, whilst being lots of fun!

Oaklands Health Centre

We love to be part of this community event to connect with local residents and strengthen relationships. It's a lovely opportunity to engage in a relaxed setting, raise awareness around health and wellbeing, and encourage preventative care. It's also a positive team-building experience for staff while supporting the wider community.

Hythe Youth Centre

We want to showcase the creative talents of our young people and highlight the value youth adds to the community. The Venetian Fete gives us an opportunity to promote our Youth Centre, take part in a major community activity and raise awareness of who we are and what we do as part of this great Hythe tradition.

Pilgrims Hospices

We have entered our float to bring awareness to our communities of the free services that Pilgrims Hospices offer as well as to be a part of such a fantastic local family event,  potentially creating more memories for our patients and their families that may join us on the day.
