Enter a float: let your imagination loose
The grand finale of the week-long festivities is a celebration of creativity and teamwork. With space for up to 28 floats, it's a great opportunity to raise awareness of your charity or local organisation, promote your activities, or engage the public in your achievements.
And there's also some friendly competition – could your charity, organisation, or family and friends group win Best Tableau on Parade at the Hythe Venetian Fete 2026?
It doesn't matter how large or small your organisation is – you can enter as one of four categories:
- Class 1 – Juvenile Societies;
- Class 2 – Small Societies and Clubs;
- Class 3 – Large Societies and Clubs; and
- Class 4 – National Societies, Open and Commercial – Please note that businesses (except not for profit) are subject to a fee which is to be confirmed.)
Each has prizes for first, second and third place. There are also prizes across all categories for:
- Best Daylight Tableau
- Best Floral Tableau
- Best Illuminated Tableau
- Environmentally Conscious Tableau
- Best Dressed Rowers


Submit your entry
We have space for no more than 28 floats, floats are allocated. on a "first come first serve" basis. If we receive more than 28 entries later entrants will be placed on a reserve list. However, charities, community groups, social and sports clubs and and other not for profit organisations take priority.
A £50 (returnable) deposit is required from all competitors who have not entered and exhibited a float at previous fetes. The deposit is returnable subject to participation on the day.
A maximum of 8 adult participants or 8 children (plus 3 adults) will be allowed on each float. You will also need one or two rowers.
Children must be accompanied by adults in a ratio of 1 adult per 5 children
Please DO NOT submit an entry speculatively unless you are confident that you will be able to compete on fete day.
