Grants from Hythe Town Council and RDHCT ensure Fete can continue this year

Generous grants from Roger De Haan Charitable Trust (RDHCT) and Hythe Town Council (along with sponsorship from local businesses) are helping to ensure that the much-loved Hythe Venetian Fete can continue this year.

Emma Long, RDHCT, said: "The RDHCT is delighted to support this wonderful community event and has done for the past 20 years."

Julie Abbott, Town Clerk, commented: "Hythe Town Council is proud to support the Hythe Venetian Fete, recognising its immense value for local tourism and the enjoyment it brings to families from across the region. The event showcases community spirit, with creative floats constructed by local residents, providing a vibrant spectacle along the canal and celebrating Hythe's unique heritage."

Entirely volunteer‑organised, the event depends on the generosity of sponsors and supported. The last event cost £134,000 to put on and in addition to that there are annual running costs such as insurance, rates, and rent on the storage units we need to store the equipment.

Steven Way, Chair of the Hythe Venetian Fete Committee, is forever grateful for their regular contributions to the Fete over the years. However, he says: "Despite these generous donations, the Fete must still rely on additional corporate sponsorship to ensure the event can take place and to keep tickets prices as low as possible."

Tickets will go on sale from 1 May 2026.
